Agogino named to Forbes 50 Over 50 list

Alice Agogino, Roscoe and Elizabeth Hughes Professor of Mechanical Engineering at UC Berkeley, has been named to Forbes magazine’s third annual 50 Over 50 list in the innovation category. She is recognized in her role as co-founder and CEO of Squishy Robotics, a startup that develops rapidly deployable mobile sensing robots for disaster rescue, remote monitoring and space exploration.

Agogino was one of three principal investigators of a 2017 CITRIS Seed Funding project that aimed to build an open-source platform for customizable, functional, and low-cost prosthetic hands. She also received CITRIS Seed Awards for multicampus, interdisciplinary projects in 2010 and 2022.

In 2020, she received the Athena Award for Academic Leadership from the EDGE in Tech Initiative, then called the Women in Tech Initiative (WITI).
