Startup founder named to Time 100 for climate

David Lu, founder of 2014 CITRIS Foundry venture Clarity Movement Co., has been named to Time magazine’s 2025 list of the 100 most influential leaders driving climate action.

Clarity is working to revolutionize the way governments, businesses and communities respond to air quality issues by offering robust, low-cost sensor networks. Its solar-powered Node-S sensor has been used in over 85 countries.

In 2022, the company was awarded $9.6 million in series A+ funding to accelerate product development.

This is not the first time a CITRIS Foundry alum has shown up in the pages of Time; in 2022, a powerline monitoring platformed developed by spring 2020 venture Gridware was named one of the magazine’s best inventions.
