CITRIS Executive Director Camille Crittenden, alongside Jill Finlayson, director of the EDGE in Tech Initiative, and Julie Sammons, director of knowledge management, led a 2018 study of University of California workforce data that found that men hold roughly 70 percent of information technology jobs across the UC system, with women holding approximately 30 percent. Updated data in 2020 reaffirmed the original report’s conclusion.

The UC Women in Technology Committee reference this study in a recent contribution to the EDUCAUSE Review, in which they discuss their efforts to build and sustain a university-wide coalition of women in tech.
