The EDGE in Tech Athena Awards recognize those who embody, encourage and promote the inclusion and success of people who have been historically marginalized in the science and tech sectors. Awardees inspire others to pursue technical careers by way of their outstanding contributions, mentorship and service.
Nominations are open to all candidates regardless of gender, age, institutional affiliation and country of residence. Submissions are due by 5 p.m. PT on Monday, March 24.
Awards will be presented in five categories.
For individuals:
- Executive Leadership
- Academic Leadership
- Early Career Leadership
- Graduate Student Leadership
For organizations:
- Next-generation Engagement
Winners, who will receive $500 as well as a bespoke trophy constructed by the institute’s senior artist, will be recognized at a special event at the UC Berkeley headquarters of CITRIS and the Banatao Institute in May.
The EDGE in Tech Athena Awards are made possible by Expanding Diversity and Gender Equity in Tech (EDGE in Tech) at the University of California, a program presented by CITRIS and Banatao Institute.
