Job opportunity: Student audiovisual assistant

CITRIS’s headquarters at UC Berkeley is seeking a highly motivated and skilled audiovisual (AV) student assistant to support the CITRIS AV department with audiovisual needs and occasional IT requests. Ideally, the student has flexible available hours between 8 a.m. and 8 p.m., Monday through Friday, and will work four to 12 hours per week for a minimum of two semesters.

The position primarily entails the setup, operation and technical support of AV equipment and production, including audio, video, playback, graphics, lighting, recording and webstream software for presentations, conferences, workshops, TV and video production, podcasts, meetings, film screenings, webinars, hybrid and remote meetings, and live-streaming. The assistant will also assist with video and audio recording, post-production, and editing, and will maintain inventory and proper storage of AV equipment.

The successful candidate will have experience or interest with AV equipment; PTZ cameras; lighting; TV, video and podcast production; motion graphics; animation; basic networking; and IT equipment. Work-study is a plus, but not required.

Compensation is $19–$25 per hour, commensurate with experience.
