Job opportunities: AV Specialist and Innovation Hub Managing Director

CITRIS and the Banatao Institute are seeking applicants for two key staff positions at the headquarters at UC Berkeley, to help support the institution’s mission of advancing information technology research for the public good.

Audiovisual Specialist

The CITRIS AV specialist will be the first line of audiovisual event support, include event scheduling, equipment setup, pre-event checks, post-event shutdown, equipment rentals, third-party vendor support and equipment maintenance schedules.

Required qualifications include:

  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to provide excellent client service
  • Ability to apply diagnostic techniques for problem troubleshooting
  • Experience using digital media equipment, video creation, editing software, digital media control software and computer equipment

Managing Director, CITRIS Innovation Hub

The managing director of the Innovation Hub will establish and direct CITRIS’s visiting scholar entrepreneurship program, re-launch and direct the CITRIS Foundry as a selective pre-incubation program, oversee and support the Workforce Innovation Program, and participate in local and systemwide innovation and entrepreneurship activities.

Required qualifications include:

  • Strong leadership and interpersonal skills, with demonstrated intercultural competence, ability to work with people across organizational levels and sectors, and experience fostering an equitable and inclusive environment
  • Entrepreneurship experience, including innovation landscape, the startup process, content experts, etc., developed through prior professional, personal or academic experience
  • Expertise working with startups using technology to address global challenges
  • Experience in fundraising, in academia, higher education or startups
  • Experience within the UC system
  • Knowledge and networks specifically related to any CITRIS areas: digital health, people and robotics, climate and agtech, semiconductors
