The Green Technology Entrepreneurship Academy (GTEA)
provides science and engineering research faculty, post-docs and doctoral
students with the necessary knowledge and skills to move environmentally
sustainable and green technology research out of the laboratory and into
practice. Participants leave with the knowledge and skills needed to
recognize, develop, and communicate potential commercial and knowledge
distribution opportunities arising from their research and how to tap the
social networks linking them to the entrepreneurial community.

and Location
The one-week academy will be held in the July 7 –
11, 2008 at the Tahoe Center for Environmental Sciences (TCES) located at
Sierra Nevada College in Incline Village, Nevada. Room/board and tuition
costs are covered by our major sponsors.
Academy
Format
The Academy is a five-day intensive program integrating
lecture, exercises, and team projects. Students work within
inter-disciplinary teams to identify, design, and validate new business
opportunities from their own research, under the guidance of faculty,
technology transfer staff, and experienced entrepreneurs and investors from
environmental science and technology-based ventures. Participating partners

Room/board and tuition are covered by our major
sponsors, the Ewing Marion Kauffman Foundation and the Superfund Basic
Training Program.
Travel to and from the conference and incidentals are responsibility of
participants.
The UC Davis Center for Entrepreneurship's ongoing
