One of the fastest developing and increasingly used tool for conservation and biogeographic research, this workshop introduces species distribution modeling. We will introduce the concepts and the process of combining species location (x,y) data with environmental data (climate, landcover, etc.) to predict where a particular species may occur. It is suitable for participants with little to no experience with species modeling. We will step through hands-on exercises using the latest tools and methods, and supply information for participants to continue their exploration of these methods. A great way to discover what this methodology is all about.
Agenda:
