Amped on electric cars: Electric car conference and show at UCSC draws hundreds
Fans and makers of electric cars from around Northern California converged on UC Santa Cruz on Saturday for a conference and car show celebrating the battery-powered green machines.
"We're here trying to dispel the myth that an electric vehicle is just a small, sluggish toy you take to the supermarket and back," said organizer John Connor, a UCSC graduate student in computer science.
