CITRIS Health partners on survey of California’s LGBTQIA+ older adults

Progress pride flag flying on a partly cloudy day.

How can the California Department of Aging (CDA) best support the older members of the state’s LGBTQIA+ community?

As the CDA seeks to learn more about the aging experience of all Californians in support of the California Master Plan on Aging, it is crucial that the unique life experiences within LGBTQIA+ communities are visible and honored.

With funding from the CDA, CITRIS Health is partnering with Openhouse, a nonprofit focused on the health and well-being of LGBTQ+ older adults, and the University of California, San Francisco (UCSF), to launch the first statewide survey documenting the needs, hopes and priorities of mid-life and older LGBTQIA+ residents.

The survey is open now and runs through March 31, 2024.
