CITRIS Foundry Welcomes Four New Pioneering Startups for Spring 2017

After another highly-competitive selection round, CITRIS Foundry welcomes four pioneering companies into our accelerator program. The newest cohort is commercializing deep technology innovations within the biotech, energy, and wireless industries.

Our referral networks remain the strongest channel for discovering and accepting top-tier startups. Applications for the CITRIS Foundry’s Spring 2017 cohort came in from all four CITRIS campuses, with an 11% acceptance rate for this impressive cohort. Several of the team members have roots in research groups at UC Berkeley and UC Santa Cruz. We’re excited to share this snapshot of our newest companies with CITRIS Foundry supporters:

Aether – Aether uses its state of the art platform to rapidly engineer enzymes, enabling our customers to manufacture complex and novel products at fractional cost. Aether is the first company capable of searching sequence space to find novel biocatalysts. Their technology can design enzymes for an ever-increasing range of chemistries, all in timelines that fit the user’s schedule. Learn more >

BioAmp Diagnostics – BioAmp Diagnostics is developing diagnostic tools that decrease the time-to-results for identification of bacterial infections from 3 days to 30 minutes using an innovative amplification technology, allowing medical doctors to treat patients with the right antibiotic at the point of care.
