Applications are now open for the spring 2024 cohort of the CITRIS Foundry startup incubator. The CITRIS Foundry helps University of California entrepreneurs develop innovative ideas into startups ready to seek venture capital funding.

With a mission at the intersection of information technology and major global social issues, the Foundry empowers student and faculty teams affiliated with the four campuses of the Center for Information Technology Research in the Interest of Society and the Banatao Institute (CITRIS) — UC Berkeley, UC Davis, UC Merced and UC Santa Cruz — to build transformative companies that have a significant impact on the world. Since its founding in 2013, the CITRIS Foundry has supported more than 130 founder teams that have secured hundreds of millions of dollars in total funding.

Eligible innovations include products and services for a wide variety of markets, including transportation, industry, enterprise, health, biotech, energy, environment, agricultural technology and more.

The 12-month incubator program offers:

  • Legal support for incorporation, ongoing advice and intellectual property strategy
