CITRIS hosted a delegation of 30 students for a meet-and-greet with NASA Administrator Jared Isaacman earlier this month. The event was at the Castle Air Museum, a former Air Force base, where Isaacman discussed the future of space flight.
Erin Hestir, the director of CITRIS at UC Merced, coordinated the school’s participation. She leads several NASA-supported research efforts and serves as the principal investigator for the BOBSat-1 team that is designing UC Merced’s first nanosatellite.
“You couldn’t be growing up and contributing to this adventure at a better time in the history of America’s space program,” Isaacman told students.
