Explore the wonders of science with FREE activities for the whole family at the Cal Science & Engineering Festival.

From Astronomy to Zoology, you’ll experience science in action. Take the solar energy challenge, join the search for extraterrestrial intelligence, make your own earthquake, get hands-on with ancient fossils, turn cellulose into energy, and journey to the stars. Be amazed by Chemistry Magic, test the laws of physics, and touch a real human brain. Witness unicycle basketball, play silly animal games—and yes, there will be liquid nitrogen! Also featured are free giveaways, take-home science activities, and the lively edutainment of the Banana Slug String Band.

The Cal Science & Engineering Festival is hosted by Science@Cal, an initiative of the UC Berkeley Office of the Vice Chancellor for Research, and is presented in conjunction with the inaugural USA Science & Engineering Festival. Festival activities are brought to you by Cal scientists, and guests from UC San Francisco, the American Chemical Society, and KQED-QUEST Science Series.

This festival is made possible by the generous support of the Office of the Vice Chancellor for Research; Center for Energy Efficient Electronics Science; Center of Integrated Nanomechanical Systems; Coalition on the Public Understanding of Science; Energy Biosciences Institute; California Institute for Quantitative Biosciences; The Molecular Foundry, Lawrence Berkeley National Laboratory; Synthetic Biology Engineering Research Center
