‘Breathalyzer-style’ COVID-19 test set to enter market this year

A breathalyzer-style COVID-19 testing device invented by CITRIS PI Cristina Davis is expected to enter the industry by the end of 2022.

Davis, a professor of mechanical and aerospace engineering and the associate vice chancellor of interdisciplinary research and strategic initiatives at UC Davis, has been investigating chemical sensing and breath analysis for over 20 years.

She received CITRIS Seed Awards to support her work in 2019 and 2020.
