Berkeley Energy and Resources Collaborative

The BERC Fall Gala is the signature fundraising event for Berkeley’s energy and resources community, bringing together industry and alumni with students and faculty to celebrate BERC’s fifth anniversary and to kick off the 2010-11 academic year.

The inaugural Gala dinner will take place Thursday, October 28, 2010 at the Hotel Shattuck Plaza in Downtown Berkeley. BERC invites all community members to join us. Come to connect with past acquaintances, meet new friends, and celebrate the best and brightest in the burgeoning energy and resources field with the presentation of the first annual BERC Leadership Award.

The ticket price includes dinner and wine. Attire is business casual.

Your ticket purchase and donations will support a variety of core BERC programs, including those described below. If you would like to direct your contribution to a particular program or event, please indicate this in the field provided.

* Students for Environmental Energy Development (SEED), an educational outreach program where BERC students develop and teach and develop activity- and project-based curriculum for East Bay students.
* LBNL Energy Connections, a program of events that facilitates collaboration between the BERC community and the Environmental Energy Technologies Division of the Lawrence Berkeley National Laboratory.
* BERC Innovative Solutions (BIS), a student-run, interdisciplinary consulting service with clients ranging from start-ups to large corporations and services ranging from cleantech investment to energy efficiency and social innovation.
* Over 30 events per year, including the BERC Annual Lecture (this year’s featured PG&E CEO Peter Darbee), Energy-in-the-News Dinners where professors lead small group discussions about contemporary energy issues, BERC networking mixers bringing together students, faculty, and industry leaders, coordinated volunteer efforts, educational site visits, and many more.
