The Center for Information Technology Research in the Interest of Society (CITRIS) is a multi-campus institute within the University of California charged with creating information technology solutions to address broad societal challenges.

We invite Principal Investigators at UC Berkeley, UC Davis, UC Davis Medical Center, UC Merced, and UC Santa Cruz to apply for seed funding that furthers CITRIS research initiatives, strengthens connections among UC campuses and catalyzes early-stage research that can lead to external funding.

This year, we are pleased to announce several CITRIS seed funding opportunities, including collaborations with UC Riverside, Tecnológico de Monterrey (ITESM) in Mexico, and Siemens. Faculty from UC Riverside and ITESM are eligible to apply as co-PIs with faculty from CITRIS campuses, within select categories. Please see the full RFP for details.
