In November, CITRIS at UC Merced hosted its sixth annual ¡Valle! Get Your Start in Tech! workshop, a three-day intensive program aimed at providing underrepresented college students from across the Central Valley with the resources to confidently pursue careers in science, technology, engineering and mathematics (STEM) fields.
This fall, 27 undergraduates learned coding skills, attended career talks, and received feedback on their application materials for jobs and internships.
Since its launch, ¡Valle! has supported more than 170 students in their STEM career journeys to date. This year’s program received support from CITRIS Workforce Innovation.
