Startup co-founder among UC Santa Cruz alumni awardees

Aviv Elor, co-founder of the fall 2021 CITRIS Foundry startup Immergo Labs, has been named the recipient of the 2025 UC Santa Cruz Outstanding Recent Alumni Award, one of five honors given annually by the UC Santa Cruz Alumni Association.

Immergo Labs uses virtual reality (VR) and artificial intelligence (AI) to assist with remote physical rehabilitation. In 2024, the company was awarded a $1 million Small Business Innovation Research (SBIR) grant from the National Science Foundation (NSF) to further research and goals of cutting costs for patients and clinics and setting a new standard for hybrid physical rehabilitation care. 

Elor serves as both president and chief research officer of the company.
