William Dean Donovan

William Dean Donovan is a managing director at DiamondStream Partners, a venture fund focused on aviation and aerospace, whose investments include Ampaire, JetZero and Elroy Air, among others. He co-founded Volaris, Mexico’s largest airline, and continues to sit on its board of directors. The company has been listed on the NYSE since 2013, employs an ultra-low-cost carrier (ULCC) business model, and flies in Mexico, Canada, Central America and the U.S. He also co-founded Casino Marketing Alliance, a travel analytics and marketing firm, and helped form Metropolitan Bank Group.

Donovan also sits on the board of Prophet, a marketing consultancy, and served as chair of the special committee during the firm’s recapitalization efforts. Donovan served as chief operating officer (COO) of Nimblefish Technologies, a micromarketing technology platform, and as CEO of SearchForce, a paid search workflow management and optimization platform.

Between 1989 and 2003, Donovan worked with Bain & Company to consult for executives in the United States, Europe and Latin America. He ran Bain’s Africa business and headed Bain’s auto and aviation practices.

Donovan received his MBA with honors from the Wharton School of the University of Pennsylvania and his B.A. from the University of California, Berkeley, where he graduated with honors in rhetoric and economics, Phi Beta Kappa and summa cum laude.
