Weijie Yun is the founder and managing partner of Tyche Partners, a venture capital firm focusing on investments in transformational hard tech companies. As a serial entrepreneur, he invests in visionary founders with breakthrough technologies to build world-class companies, such as Desktop Metal, Formlabs, LightForce Orthodontics, Ambiq Micro and Ayar Labs. Prior to Tyche Partners, he was the co-founder and chief executive officer of Telegent Systems, AIP Networks and SiTek.
Yun holds an M.S. (1989) and Ph.D. (1992) in electrical engineering and computer sciences (EECS) from UC Berkeley.
He received the Entrepreneur of the Year Award from Ernst and Young. Yun’s UC Berkeley campus affiliations include being a founding board member of the management, entrepreneurship, and technology (MET) program, a friend of the Haas School of Business and a member of the advisory board for College of Engineering. He and his wife, Haifang, have four UC Berkeley degrees between them, all in electrical engineering and computer sciences. The Yuns are builders of Berkeley.
