Boulanger graduated with a Ph.D. and M.S. from the University of California, Berkeley and a B.A.Sc. from the University of British Columbia. Currently, Boulanger serves as the Director of the Center for Geotechnical Modeling, Department of Civil and Environmental Engineering at the University of California, Davis. He is a member of the National Academy of Engineering and was awarded the Ralph B. Peck Award by the American Society of Civil Engineers.
Boulanger’s interests are mainly in geotechnical earthquake engineering with emphases on liquefaction and its remediation, seismic soil-pile-structure interaction, and seismic performance of earth dams and levees.
