Job opportunity: Digital marketing assistant (open to UC Berkeley students)

The communications team at CITRIS’s headquarters at UC Berkeley is seeking a digital marketing student assistant for the 2025–26 academic year. The position is available to currently enrolled UC Berkeley undergraduate and graduate students.

As a digital marketing student assistant, you’ll contribute to website, email, print, video, photography and social media campaigns to launch and promote programs and flagship events. There may also be opportunities to contribute to audience research, web analytics and metrics tracking.

Typical tasks include designing graphics to achieve a cohesive look across marketing materials and social media channels, editing video, capturing photos at events or meetings, creating and updating web pages and email campaigns to help launch programs or events, and assisting with direct email marketing lists.

Required qualifications include the ability to manage multiple projects at a time; a strong understanding of graphic design, web design, and UX principles and practices; one year of experience updating a website with a content management system such as WordPress; strong understanding of photography and video editing; and expertise in Canva or Adobe Creative Suite (Illustrator, InDesign, Photoshop, Express).

The ideal candidate will work for a minimum of two semesters and is available for up to 15 hours per week between 9 a.m. and 5 p.m., Monday through Friday.
