CITRIS and the Banatao Institute and the Center for Environmental Intelligence at VinUniversity (VinUni) in Hanoi, Vietnam, have signed a memorandum of understanding (MOU) to advance sustainable urban development through a strategic research partnership.

Bringing together leading experts from Vietnam and the University of California community, the collaboration will harness technology, data science and artificial intelligence (AI) to serve three focus areas: urban and environmental systems, air quality and transportation, and AI for smart cities. The agreement will also support student development, with plans to co-advise students and initiate exchange programs for doctoral candidates.
