Strategic Partnerships
CITRIS has been fueled by collaborative partnerships among the four UC campuses and with the private sector. These relationships benefit both the University and industry and are at the core of innovations that support society. Relationships with CITRIS corporate partners are characterized by an intensive focus on both the goals and mission of the partner and on the expertise and interests of the faculty members. UC faculty and students collaborate with industrial researchers to identify major societal problems and then develop the technology and services that address those problems. Through close ties to industry, these innovations are adopted, adapted, commercialized, and brought to use with greater ease and rapidity. By engaging with industry, faculty and students gain the opportunity to see firsthand where technology markets are headed, so they can steer their research in these directions. Students work on the cutting edge of commercially applicable research. Industry gains access to research projects and collaborators as well as the ability to recruit outstanding students and place industrial scientists as visitors in research labs.
