Directions and Parking for Sutardja Dai Hall

Parking is extremely limited on the north side of the UC Berkeley campus. Please allow extra time to navigate any campus construction zones, find parking, and arrive at the building. One- and two-hour metered street parking (coins, cash, credit) can be found on the surrounding blocks, though open spaces may be limited.

For food and drinks, Sutardja Dai Hall hosts Yali’s Coffee in the Qualcomm Cafe on the second floor. Please check their website for hours. Additional cafes, restaurants and coffee shops can be found one block away at the intersection of Euclid Avenue and Hearst Avenue.

Public Transportation

The nearest BART station is Downtown Berkeley BART, followed by a scenic, slightly uphill, 15–20 minute walk to Sutardja Dai Hall. A taxi stand is located outside this BART station. Downtown Berkeley BART also offers valet bike parking.

Campus Shuttles System: BearTransit

BearTransit is UC Berkeley’s shuttle system, serving the campus, Downtown Berkeley BART, parking lots, Clark Kerr Campus and the Hill area. The shuttle is free for Berkeley affiliates with a Cal ID and costs $1 for visitors. View the daytime and nighttime safety shuttle schedules. Please note: The Perimeter “P” Shuttle runs in one direction only, so the trip to Sutardja Dai Hall from BART is significantly shorter than the return trip from Sutardja Dai Hall back to BART. The AC Transit bus may be a better option if time is limited.

Airport Shuttle

Travelers to the Bay Area can fly into either Oakland or San Francisco. The Oakland International Airport is closer to the UC Berkeley campus. For shuttle transport from either airport, call the shuttle service at least 24 hours in advance to make a reservation and call the shuttle service again to notify them when you have landed.
