The Graduate Council has established a Designated Emphasis in Computational Science and Engineering [CSE] effective 7/1/08. The DE will be offered by an interdisciplinary grad group and will educate doctoral students to effectively conduct computationally intensive research across many fields of science and engineering.
Participating faculty come from Astronomy, Bioengineering, Chemical Engineering, Chemistry, Civil & Environmental Engineering, Earth & Planetary Science, Electrical Engineering & Computer Science, Industrial Engineering & Operations Research, School of Information, Integrative Biology, Materials Science & Engineering, Mathematics, Mechanical Engineering, Helen Wills Neuroscience Institute, Nuclear Engineering, Physics, Political Science, and Statistics. Students enrolled in the PhD programs of these departments/units will be eligible for the DE.
