Kira Gardner

As program manager at the CITRIS Foundry innovation incubator, Kira Gardner supports teams and individuals pursuing technical innovation for a broad range of high-impact challenges. Prior to joining CITRIS, Gardner was the project manager and senior scientist at Sepion Technologies, a Cyclotron Road advanced materials start-up, where she honed her expertise in next-generation lithium batteries technology, grant writing, and fundraising.

She earned her MSc. in Materials Science and Engineering from Stanford University, where she researched up-scalable thin-film solar cells as a Roger Van Overstaeten Scholar, and served as design coach for industry partners at Stanford’s Institute of Design (The d.school). While earning her BSc. in Physics at UC Santa Barbara, Gardner researched nano-sensors at the California Nanosystems Institute (CNSI). one of four Governor Gray Davis Institutes for Science and Innovation, including CITRIS and the Banatao Institute.
