My research focuses on ubiquitous computing, statistical learning and machine learning with applications in occupancy sensing, indoor localization, smart home, Internet of Things and cyber-physical systems.

My developed indoor positioning systems facilitate realizing various indoor location-based services and also improving the energy efficiency in buildings, which matches with the CITRIS Sustainable Infrastructures Initiative. My designed WiFi-enabled device-free occupancy sensing platform will serve as a vital underpinning for numerous applications in both health care for older adults and smart home automation, that also perfectly align with CITRIS mission.
