Patrick Scaglia

Patrick Scaglia is co-Founder of the CITRIS Foundry technology incubator program. He serves on the CITRIS Advisory Board and is a consultant and technology advisor to startup ventures.

Patrick was a Hewlett Packard Executive for 12 years, seven of those as CTO, and most recently as VP and CTO of HP Cloud Services and Applications. Patrick drove HP’s entry into Public Cloud Services built on an open platform and led HP’s mobile application platform strategy. Previously CTO for HP’s Printing and Imaging Group (IPG), Patrick has seeded and led new ventures in social and long tail publishing,mobile and cloud printing. Prior to IPG, Patrick was VP and Director of Internet Computing Research at HP Labs. Before joining HP, Patrick was VP or Engineering and VP of Research at Cadence Design Systems, a leader in Design Automation Software. co founder and Director of Cadence Berkeley Labs, Co founder and VP of Product development for Evans & Sutherland Supercomputer Division. In his junior years he has held management positions in the consumer and business product divisions of Alcatel in Europe where he was a key member of the Minitel project, one of the most successful, pre-web, online services.

Patrick serves on several Advisory Boards including the UC Berkeley College of Engineering and the Center for Information Technology Research in the Interest of Society (CITRIS). He has also served on the Georgia Tech College of Computing and the National Science Foundation Directorate for Computer Information Science and Engineering. He is currently on the Board of Directors of Sutoiku.com in Palo Alto.

Patrick graduated from the University Louis Pasteur in Strasbourg, France, where he received bachelor’s, master’s degrees and Diplome d’Etudes Approfondies (DEA) in Physics. He also graduated from the Ecole Nationale Superieure de Physique in Strasbourg with a master’s degree in engineering.
