CITRIS is delighted to announce that Dr. Kenneth Loh, Associate Professor in the Department of Civil & Environmental Engineering, will serve as CITRIS campus director at UC Davis.

Dr. Kenneth J. Loh is an Associate Professor in the Department of Civil & Environmental Engineering at the University of California, Davis. He received his B.S. degree in Civil Engineering from Johns Hopkins University in 2004. He continued his graduate studies at the University of Michigan where he completed his M.S. degree in Civil Engineering in 2005, a second M.S. degree in Materials Science & Engineering in 2008, and a Ph.D. degree in Civil Engineering in 2008. His research interests include the development of multifunctional nanocomposites and biologically-inspired materials for sensing, actuation, and power harvesting applications.

We would also like to take this opportunity to thank Professor Nina Amenta for her leadership and service to CITRIS over the past four years. Under her direction, CITRIS at UC Davis has increased the number of affiliated faculty and participation in the CITRIS Seed Grant program, increased connections with researchers at the UCD Medical Center, and launched UCD’s participation in the CITRIS Mobile App Challenge.

We will hold a reception at Davis in the fall to welcome Ken and thank Nina in person.

Best regards,
Costas Spanos
CITRIS Director
