We have many exciting programs to promote and success stories to share. Our audiences include University of California students, faculty, staff, and administration, corporate and nonprofit partners, local and state legislators, as well as the UC entrepreneurship community. 

CITRIS is looking for a motivated undergraduate or graduate student to help strengthen our brand, connect with our audiences, and tell stories about our work and research community. This is a fast-paced environment with many opportunities to apply your video and photography skills, take on new projects, and make an impact. 

CITRIS is seeking a Multimedia Assistant to help produce video materials for our website, social media, YouTube channel, and public events. The Multimedia Assistant will work directly with our communications team. Ideally, we are looking for a student who can work with CITRIS for a minimum of two semesters and have available hours between 9 am and 5 pm on Mondays through Fridays.

Location: Remote until campus reopens, then Sutardja Dai Hall 
Scope: 10 – 15hrs hours per week

Qualifications

Creative and Design Skills:

  • Strong understanding of video pre-production, production, and post-production workflows required.
  • Strong graphic design and videography skills required.
  • Ability to tell a story through photography and video.
  • Ability to brainstorm and pitch ideas
  • Familiarity and ability to use brand guidelines to create work that fits the organization’s brand.
  • Familiarity with social media platforms and copywriting. 
  • Ability to prioritize and manage deadlines.
  • Highly detail-oriented and skilled at troubleshooting when needed.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills; enjoy working in a team.
  • Strong visual sense for typography, layout, and color is a plus.

Technical Skills:

  • Currently enrolled in a BA, BS, or Masters program at UC Berkeley
  • Strong skills in Adobe Premiere Pro required.
  • Basic editing skills in Adobe After Effects, Lightroom are preferred — advanced skills a plus.
  • Experience with DSLR photography and cinematography is preferred.
  • Basic skills in Google Suite is a plus.
  • Basic skills in Canva is a plus.

Duties may include but are not be limited to:

  • Video post-production: digital file organization, editing, color correction, and captioning.
  • Edit digital photographs for print, web, or video use.
  • Create title slide decks, and general designs using Canva.
  • Assist with live photoshoots and film shoots (When campus reopens).
  • Assist with general marketing and communications projects.
  • Develop and edit creative project briefs for videos.  
  • Assist with reporting on multimedia project data and metrics.
  • Assist with other tasks as needed.
