CITRIS Foundry Companies Win at 2014 UC Berkeley Startup Competition (LAUNCH)!

Companies from the CITRIS Foundry were winners in the 2014 UC Berkeley Startup Competition (LAUNCH). LAUNCH is one of the foremost UC Berkeley events for university-affiliated early-stage startups with a long history dating back to 1999. This year, more than 200 companies applied with 36 companies competing in the Semi-Final found. Two Companies from The Foundry (Teaman & Company and SmartBod) competed in the Semi-Final round with Teaman & Company reaching the Finals. After pitches to a panel of judges from the venture capital community and an audience of more than 300 attendees, Teaman & Company won 1st place in the Products & Services Track for bringing the experience of purchasing bespoke jewelry online and to the world. SmartBod won the Elevator Pitch Award for developing the world’s first intelligent vibrator that uses sensors and algorithms to adapt to the user’s physiological reactions and was featured in Businessweek for their accomplishments.
