Founding director, CITRIS PI named AAAS fellows

CITRIS’s founding director, Ruzena Bajcsy, has been named a fellow of the American Association for the Advancement of Science (AAAS), one of the most distinctive honors within the scientific community. Bajcsy, professor emerita of electrical engineering and computer sciences at UC Berkeley, is a pioneer in machine perception, robotics and artificial intelligence. Her multidisciplinary contributions have advanced robotic sensing and vision, as well as the field of medical imaging.

Paolo D’Odorico, recipient of a 2021 Seed Award and a professor of water resources at UC Berkeley, was also honored, for his research in ecohydrology and food-water-energy systems.
