Berkeley Marvell Nanofabrication Laboratory at CITRIS
Located in Sutardja Dai Hall, CITRIS’s headquarters on the UC Berkeley campus, the Marvell NanoLab provides a 15,000-square-foot Class 100/1000 cleanroom to support the micro- and nanofabrication technology research of more than 100 principal investigators and over 500 academic and industrial researchers. The NanoLab acts as a regional center for research, hosting fledgling entrepreneurs who use the lab to breathe life into new ideas, as well as industry leaders exploring new materials for advanced microelectronic devices.
CITRIS Foundry
The CITRIS Foundry is an innovation incubator that helps UC entrepreneurs refine their ideas, raise funding and choose a market strategy. Since 2013, the CITRIS Foundry has helped more than 150 campus entrepreneurs launch technologies and companies that are shaping the future. The year-long program specializes in helping founders make the leap from science to startup.
CITRIS Innovation Hub
The CITRIS Innovation Hub fosters interdisciplinary innovation, expands on-ramps for next-generation talent and promotes greater workforce inclusion in emerging technologies. It offers weeklong immersive programs, half- or whole-day visits, and longer hosted stays for corporate leaders, faculty members, students, government representatives and startup founders.
CITRIS Invention Lab
Opened in 2012 as the first tech maker space on the UC Berkeley campus, the CITRIS Invention Lab cultivates faculty, student and community creativity by providing the knowledge, tools and expertise to rapidly design and prototype novel products, embedded sensing systems and integrated mobile devices.
CITRIS Seed Funding
CITRIS Seed Awards facilitate the scientific groundwork, data collection and prototyping necessary to pursue larger research or commercialization awards that address major unsolved challenges. Since 2008, CITRIS Seed Funding has supported more than 245 projects and over 400 researchers.
CITRIS Tech for Social Good
The CITRIS Tech for Social Good Program provides funding support to undergraduate and graduate students, postdoctoral researchers, and student groups, teams and organizations developing hardware, software, events or programs that align with CITRIS’s mission.
CITRIS Workforce Innovation
The CITRIS Workforce Innovation Program helps UC students pursue world-changing research and accelerate their careers. It offers select undergraduates eight-week paid internships in areas of emerging IT innovation important to the state of California.
