CITRIS is Green! The Banatao Institute@CITRIS Berkeley has been officially certified as a green department at the highest possible level.
Awarded by the UC Berkeley Office of Sustainability, this designation indicates that CITRIS has gone above and beyond to improve our environmental footprint and green up our operation. We achieved this through utilizing environmentally-friendly resources, lowering energy usage, and implementing unique programs such as the Distributed Intelligence Automated Demand-Response (DIADR) Program, which is being set up throughout Sutardja Dai Hall to control lighting. By fulfilling various prerequisites, CITRIS has been issued a certificate and is now eligible for funds to sustain future initiatives.
We are extremely grateful to the assistance provided by the Building Sustainability @ Cal students, whose mission is to educate building inhabitants and identify structural and operational changes that can be made to buildings and campus as a whole. Thank you!
