Interactive Care, or I-Care, a web-based tool created by UC Davis Health neuropsychologist Alyssa Weakley, is working to make long-distance caregiving for older adults easier.
The platform enables recipients to receive communications from caregivers. As the project progresses with support from 2022 CITRIS Seed Award, Weakley and a multicampus, interdisciplinary team are now working on unobtrusive sensors to provide caregivers with a bird’s-eye view of their care recipients.
UC Merced electronic and computer engineer Shijia Pan and UC Davis computer scientist Hao-Chuan Wang are co-investigators on the project.
