J.J. Garcia-Luna-Aceves, campus director of CITRIS at UC Santa Cruz, has been named to the National Academy of Inventors, which recognizes academic inventors who have created and facilitated inventions that have impacted quality of life, economic development and the welfare of society.
Garcia-Luna-Aceves is a distinguished professor and the Jack Baskin Endowed Chair of Computer Engineering at UC Santa Cruz. He holds 70 U.S. patents and has more than 500 publications across books, conferences and journals.
“To me, teaching and research in computer science and engineering, and networking, in particular, is all about discovering and defining problems and then inventing solutions to solve them,” Garcia-Luna-Aceves said.
