Applications are now open for this year’s Cal Energy Corps program!

The Cal Energy Corps, sponsored this year by the Center for Information Technology Research in the Interest of Society (CITRIS) and the Banatao Institute, is a paid undergraduate summer internship program engaging top UC Berkeley Students in the design, development, and delivery of sustainable energy and climate solutions around the world.

Launched in 2011, the program provides students with hands-on experience in the non-profit and private sectors to enhance their academic work; giving them a chance to contribute their talents to real-world projects. Students chosen for the program participate in full-time 8+ week internships over the summer at selected host organizations, receiving a $600 per week living stipend and structured mentorship. Following the program, students present their research projects in the Cal Energy Corps Symposium to the university community and the public.

This year, placements are available at the Center for Carbon Removal, Imprint Energy, Clarity Movement Co. (an environmental tech startup out of the CITRIS Foundry), Power Standard Labs, and the Lawrence Berkeley National Lab; as well as abroad with Tec De Monterrey, in Mexico.
