The Recharge Initiative: Enhancing Aquifer Recharge & Improving the Quality of Water Resources

This CITRIS Seed Funded project is a pilot study that employs cutting-edge environmental monitoring, data transmission, and near real-time analysis to assist in operating a managed aquifer recharge project, in collaboration with students, faculty from multiple academic institutions, the USGS, and a local water agency. It demonstrates how development of these types of systems can improve both the quantity and quality of available water. This project is also directly linked to the UCSC (SOE) undergraduate senior design group.
