Bjoern Hartmann is Faculty Director of the CITRIS Connected Communities Initiative and co-Director of the CITRIS Invention Lab, which he co-founded in 2012. He is also an Assistant Professor of Electrical Engineering and Computer Science at UC Berkeley. Bjoern received a BA in Communication, BSE in Digital Media Design, and MSE in Computer and Information Science from the University of Pennsylvania in 2002. He received his PhD degree in Computer Science from Stanford University in 2009. His research in Human-Computer Interaction focuses on on the creation and evaluation of user interface design tools, end-user programming environments, and ubiquitous computing toolkits.
