Professor Charlie McDowell

Biography

Charlie McDowell is a Professor in the Computer Science Department at the University of California, Santa Cruz. He is also currently serving as the Associate Dean for Undergraduate Affairs in the Baskin School of Engineering.

He earned his B.S. degree in Applied Mathematics and Computer Science from Cal Poly San Luis Obispo in 1974. He earned his M.S. and Ph.D. degrees in Computer Science from the University of California, San Diego in 1981 and 1983 respectively.

He is a member of the Association for Computing Machinery and of the IEEE Computer Society.

When not being a professor of computer science he can be found playing trombone with a number of local groups.
