The NanoLab Summer Internship Program provides young women in high school with the first-hand experience of working inside a UC Berkeley lab.
Congratulations to Anjali, Francesca, Rachel, Anushka, and Irving for completing their summer internships in the Berkeley Marvell Nanofabrication Laboratory.
The NanoLab operates a popular annual program for young women in high school to gain first-hand experience inside a nanofabrication facility at UC Berkeley. In addition, the NanoLab hosted an intern from the Transfer to Excellence program with the Center for Energy Efficient Electronics Science (E3S).
NanoLab interns assist staff engineers in making monitoring runs on processing equipment, analyzing data, and working on computer tasks. To kick off this year’s program, the interns attended the SEMICON West conference in San Francisco with NanoLab staff to learn about the industrial applications of nanotechnology. Several of this year’s interns also participated in the #iLookLikeAnEngineer online movement to recognize women and other underrepresented groups for their contributions to the engineering field.
