CITRIS Foundry Welcomes Four New Pioneering Startups

After another highly-competitive selection round, CITRIS Foundry welcomes four pioneering companies into our accelerator program. The newest cohort is commercializing deep technology innovations within the biotech, energy, and wireless industries.

Our referral networks remain the strongest channel for discovering and accepting top-tier startups. Applications for Spring ’17 came in from all four CITRIS campuses, with an 11% acceptance rate for this impressive cohort. Several of the team members have roots in research groups at UC Berkeley and UC Santa Cruz. We’re excited to share this snapshot of our newest companies with Foundry supporters:

  • Aether lowers manufacturing costs and accelerates development timelines by engineering microorganisms to produce pharmaceutical compounds.
  • BioAmp Diagnostics develops novel, instrument-free screening and diagnostic tools to identify antibiotic-resistant bacteria in patient samples.
  • Flexicity enables electricity consumers and utilities to save money and integrate more renewables through thermal load management.
  • Kizuna Wireless builds radio technologies with 100x capacity for the next generation of high-throughput, dense-device cloud connectivity.
