CITRIS is honored to welcome Christine Gulbranson and Andrea Goldsmith to our Advisory Board.

Christine Gulbranson is Senior Vice President for Innovation and Entrepreneurship at the University of California’s Office of the President. She works with leaders from the private, public, and philanthropic sectors to create new opportunities for research and economic growth and further the entrepreneurial opportunities within UC. Dr. Gulbranson holds five degrees from UC Davis: a bachelor’s degree in physics; bachelor’s, master’s, and doctoral degrees in chemical engineering and materials science; and an M.B.A. She has received multiple accolades for her work, including being recognized as “Innovator of the 21st Century” by MIT Technology Review and “40 Under 40” of Silicon Valley business leaders. She was also a judge on “The Big Brain Theory: Pure Genius,” the Discovery Channel’s engineering competition show, which aired globally in over 100 countries.

Andrea Goldsmith is the Stephen Harris Chair Professor of Electrical Engineering at ‎Stanford University, where she directs Stanford’s Wireless Systems Laboratory. She co-founded and serves as Chief Scientist of Accelera, Inc., which develops software-defined wireless network technology, and previously co-founded and served as CTO of Quantenna Communications Inc., which develops high-performance WiFi chipsets. She has previously held industry positions at Maxim Technologies, Memorylink Corporation, and AT&T Bell Laboratories. Dr. Goldsmith is a Fellow of the IEEE and has received several awards for her work, including the IEEE Communications Society and Information Theory Society joint paper award, the IEEE Communications Society Best Tutorial Paper Award, and the National Academy of Engineering Gilbreth Lecture Award.
